I may be able to help here since Nvidia Guys seem to know not the answer or can't be bothered to help resolve these issues.
I had the same issue. I am prompted to update my driver for the Nvidia m version. In particular as I wanted to play the new Doom Game. Over and over I also got to prompts telling me the PhysX Software not selected After some considerable stuffing about with no help from Nvidia I managed to get it in order.
I had an external drive attached to my Asus Gamer Notebook. So I tried it without having my extended external hard drive being plugged in to my PC. Download and update completed! It makes sense as there are two drives and can there for not distinguish between one and the other were perhaps to update it to? Try it and see how you go. Hope I at least been of some help here Jun Whilst updating my drivers through GeForce Experience to the lastest game ready driver, everything seemed to be going fine until it began 'Installing PhysX System Software' at which point the installation seems to have frozen.
I can't close GeForce Experience by crossing off. If this is not possible, be sure to ask someone that has access to these details. First, restart your computer in the usual way. When the system's back up and running, right-click Setup, select 'Run as Administrator' and punch in the credentials.
Nvidia drivers are partnered with GeForce Experience, a driver update tool that handles driver installations automatically. On paper, this software means you don't have to navigate this process manually — but sometimes this can cause issues. Many users have been hampered by the software freezing upon setup of these drivers, resulting in a more drawn-out and frustrating process.
Ditching the software can solve this, they've found, so try manually downloading the drivers as you require them. Similarly, a freshly-updated driver may not be playing nicely with an older version that it supersedes. To determine whether this is the case, be sure to remove the old drivers before installing the new ones. Here you'll find a list.

Since purchasing the laptop I have never been able to update the driver, even though the computer tells me that updates are available. I have spoken with the company that set the computer up and they tell me not to worry as Windows 10 takes care of everything.
Things have not gone smoothly with the Windows Anniversary Update, so I am sceptical of this answer. Any Help would be appreciated, G. Nov 7, 16, 86, 3, You must log in or register to reply here. The screen is locked.
